Peer Mentoring Program
Sensory Zone Peer Mentoring Programs
One of our goals here at Sensory Zone is to provide social skills training for children and teens with social difficulties through peer mentoring in the community.
Our typically developing, highly motivated peer mentors will be paired with your child or teen to teach critical social skills such as initiating conversations, sharing, turn taking, perspective taking, and reciprocity while having a blast! Friends meet up at Sensory Zone or at other local, practical locations in our community such as: parks, bowling allies, playgrounds, and many more.
Our peer mentors are trained how to teach social skills to your child or teen in a seamless, naturalistic way! Many of our peer mentors have siblings diagnosed on the spectrum and are naturally very comfortable interacting with children of all abilities. Your child’s buddy will be determined by age to ensure your child learns the most appropriate social skills.
